DENTSPLY International Inc. is a designer, developer, manufacturer and marketer of a broad range of products for the dental market. The Company's consumable products include dental prosthetics, including artificial teeth, endodontic instruments and materials, dental injectable anesthetics, prophylaxis paste, dental sealants, implants, impression materials, restorative materials, precious metal dental alloys, dental ceramics, crown and bridge materials, tooth whiteners, topical fluoride, cutting instruments, dental needles and orthodontic appliances and accessories. DENTSPLY's small equipment products include high- and low-speed handpieces, computer-aided machining ceramics systems, intraoral lighting systems, ultrasonic scalers and polishers, air abrasion systems and porcelain furnaces. Its large equipment product lines include conventional and digital dental x-ray systems and related support equipment and accessories, intraoral cameras, computer imaging systems and related software.

Financial Information
XRAY designs, develops, manufactures and markets consumable dental products, as well as small and large pieces of dental equipment. For the three months ended 3/31/03, net sales rose 12% to $396.2 million. Net income rose 16% to $38.3M. Revenues reflect strong sales growth from the Cercon Smart Ceramic restorative product and the Eclipse Prosthetic Resin System. Higher earnings benefited from the absence of a $2 million in restructuring costs.
