SPX Corporation provides technical products and systems, industrial products and services, flow technology, cooling technologies and services and service solutions. The Company offers fire detection and building life-safety products, television and radio broadcast antennas and towers, life science products and services, power transformers, compaction equipment, high-tech die castings, dock products and systems, cooling towers, air filtration products, valves, back-flow prevention and fluid handling equipment and metering and mixing solutions. SPX's products and services also include specialty service tools, diagnostic systems, service equipment and technical information services.

Financial Information
For the nine months ended 9/30/04, net sales rose 17% to $3.81 billion. Net income from continuing operations decreased 38% to $80.1 million. Revenues reflect increased sales in every segment of the Company and favorable impact from foreign currency exchange. Net income was offset by lower earnings in joint Ventures.
