StanCorp Investment Advisers, Inc. is an investment adviser providing performance analysis, fund selection support and model portfolios to the Company's retirement plans clients and subsidiaries of StanCorp.

Financial Information
For the nine months ended 9/30/04, net sales rose 2% to $1.59 billion. Net income rose 32% to $148.1 million. Revenues reflect growth in the Employee Benefits-Insurance segment and higher investment income. Higher income also reflects lower benefits to policyholders costs.
