Republic Services, Inc. is a provider of services in the non-hazardous solid waste industry throughout the United States. The Company provides non-hazardous solid waste collection services for commercial, industrial, municipal and residential customers through 142 collection companies in 22 states. It owns and operates 93 transfer stations, 58 solid waste landfills and 35 recycling facilities. During the year ended December 31, 2003, Republic's operations include Eastern, Central, Southern, Southwestern and Western. Each region has several operating areas and locations. Each of its regions provides collection, transfer and recycling and disposal services.

Financial Information
For the nine months ended 9/30/04, revenues rose 7% to $2.02 billion. Net income before accounting change rose 13% to $180.3M. Results reflect price increases for residential and commercial collection services and improved gross margins.
