The Company provides reliable, scalable and secure broadband data, voice and image communications globally. Qwest serves global and national business and government customers, as well as residential and small business customers, primarily in the local service area. The Company has been managing its operations on the basis of its products and services in four segments: retail services, wholesale services, network services and directory services, but intends to change its segment reporting beginning in 2002. The new segments will be business services, consumer services, wholesale services, directory services and network services.

Financial Information
Q provides broadband Internet communications services in five segments: business, consumer, wholesale, directory and network. For the six months ended 6/30/02, revenues fell 15% to $8.68 billion. Net loss from continuing operations before extraordinary item fell 44% to $1.84 billion. Revenues reflect the absence of optical capacity asset sales and certain Internet equipment sales. Lower loss reflects decreased investment write-down charges.
