PETsMART, Inc. is a provider of products, services and solutions for the lifetime needs of pets in North America. It operates 643 retail stores in North America. During the fiscal year ended February 1, 2004 (fiscal 2003), the Company opened a total of 60 new stores. PETsMART's stores, typically ranging in size from 19,000 to 27,000 square feet, are generally located in sites co-anchored by strong destination superstores and typically are in or near regional shopping centers. The Company also reaches customers through its direct marketing channels, including PETsMART.com, a pet e-commerce site, a separate Website dedicated to equine products, as well as through two branded catalogs. PETsMART offers more than 12,000 distinct items, including national brand names, as well as a selection of private brands across a range of product categories. The Company complements its product assortment with a selection of value-added pet services, including grooming and pet training.

Financial Information
For the 39 weeks ended 10/31/04, revenues increased 13% to $2.43 billion. Net income increased 29% to $105.8 million. Revenues reflect an increase in comparable store sales and the addition of new stores. Net income also reflects an increase in gross profit due to decreased product costs.
