Business Description
Micron Technology, Inc. and its subsidiaries are principally engaged in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of semiconductor memory products. The Company offers products that include dynamic random access memory, synchronous dynamic random access memory, double data rate dynamic access memory, legacy dynamic random access memory products, static random access memory products and Flash products. On May 31, 2001, Micron Electronics, Inc. (MEI), formerly a 61%-owned subsidiary of the Company, completed the disposition of its PC operations. On August 6, 2001, MEI completed a merger with Interland, Inc. in a stock-for-stock acquisition. Upon completion of the Interland Merger, MEI changed its name to Interland, Inc., and the Company's ownership interest was reduced from 61% to 43% of Interland's outstanding common stock. On August 30, 2001, the Company contributed all of its shares of Interland common stock to its charitable organization, the Micron Technology Foundation.

Micron Technology designs, develops, manufactures, and markets semiconductor memory products and personal computer PC systems. For the nine months ended 5/30/02, revenues fell 47% to $1.84 billion. Net loss from continuing operations totalled $320.5 million vs. income of $54.3 million. Revenues reflect a decrease in megabit shipments and the absence of web-hosting operations. Net loss reflects inventory write-downs, increased R&D costs and lower interest income.
