For the six months ended 6/30/04, revenues rose 11% to $19.07 billion. Net income from continuing operations before accntg. change rose 74% to $1.51 billion. Revenues reflect increased premiums written and strong annuity deposit growth. Net income also reflects favorable claims experience and fewer policyholder dividend expenses.
