Business Description
Level 3 Communications, Inc. is engaged primarily in the communications and information services businesses. The Company is a facilities-based provider of a range of integrated communications services, including voice, private line, wavelengths, colocation, Internet access, managed modem, data and dark fiber. It primarily provides services over its own facilities. In April 2004, the Company acquired the wholesale dial access business of ICG Communications, Inc., a Denver-based communications company. This business provides dial-up Internet access to America Online, EarthLink, MSN, United Online and other Internet service providers.

Financial Information
For the 26 weeks ended 6/30/04, revenues fell 16% to $1.82 billion. Net loss from continuing operations before accounting change fell 39% to $210 million. Results reflect decrease in revenues from communications segment, lower operating and non-operating expenses.
