Leggett & Platt, Incorporated (Leggett) is a diversified manufacturer that conceives, designs and produces a wide range of engineered components and products that can be found in most homes, offices, retail stores and automobiles. The Company's business is organized into five segments. Leggett, through its Residential Furnishings segment, supplies a variety of components used by bedding and upholstered furniture manufacturers in the assembly of their finished products. The Commercial Fixturing and Components group consist of two segments: Fixture and Display, and Office Furniture Components. Its Aluminum Products segment is an independent producer of non-automotive aluminum die castings. The Industrial Materials segment produces steel rod, drawn wire and welded steel tubing, as well as specialty wire products. The Specialized Products segment manufactures components for the automotive industry and designs, builds and sells specialized machinery and equipment.

Financial Information
For the fiscal year ended 12/31/04, net sales increased 16% to $5.09 billion. Net income increased 39% to $285.4 million. Revenues reflect higher demand from the consumer and industrial sectors. Earnings also benefited from improved gross and operating margins.
