Business Description
KeySpan Corporation is engaged, through its subsidiaries, in four operating segments. The Gas Distribution segment consists of six regulated gas distribution subsidiaries that operate in New York, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The Electric Services segment consists of subsidiaries that manage the electric transmission and distribution system owned by the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA); provide generating capacity and energy conversion services for LIPA from KeySpan's generating facilities located on Long Island; and manage fuel supplies for LIPA to fuel the Long Island generating facilities. The Energy Services segment provides energy-related services to customers in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania. The Energy Investments segment includes gas exploration and production, domestic pipelines and gas storage facilities, midstream natural gas processing in Canada and natural gas pipeline activities in the United Kingdom.

Financial Information
For the six months ended 6/30/04, revenues rose 1% to $3.96 billion. Net income before acct. change applicable to Common rose 60% to $375.5 million. Results reflect higher gas distribution revenues, and a $172.9 million gain on subsidiary stock transactions.
