Business Description
J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is a truckload transportation and logistics company in North America. Together with its wholly owned subsidiaries and associated companies, J.B. Hunt provides transportation and logistics services to customers throughout the continental United States, Canada and Mexico. The Company's business operations are organized through three distinct, but complementary, business segments: full truckload, dry-van (JBT); intermodal (JBI), and dedicated contract services (DCS). In addition, the Company owns an interest in Transplace, Inc., and also provides transport services to and from Mexico through a variety of Mexican carriers. As of December 31, 2003, J.B. Hunt operated approximately 9,900 tractors. In addition, its contracted independent contractors own and operate their own tractors, although they transport freight in the Company's trailing equipment.

Financial Information
For the nine months ended 9/30/04, revenues rose 12% to $2.02 billion. Net income rose from $69 million to $126.5 million. Revenues reflect higher levels of freight activity and freight rate increases. Net income also reflects improved operating ratios and fewer insurance and claims expenses.
