IR manufactures and sells primarily nonelectrical machinery and equipments under its own name as well as under other names. For the six months ended 6/30/02, revenues rose 3% to $4.89 billion. Net income before accntg. change rose 68% to $188.3 million. Revenues reflect the acquisition of Taylor Industries and National Refrigeration Services and growth at Dresser-Rand. Net income also reflects higher margins and lower charges for plant closures and restructuring.
