IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. develops, manufactures and distributes products and provides services for the veterinary and the food and water testing markets. Its products and services include point-of-care veterinary diagnostic products; laboratory and consulting services used by veterinarians; veterinary pharmaceutical products; information products and services, including software, used in veterinary practice management; diagnostic and health-monitoring products and services for production animals; products that test water for certain microbiological contaminants, and products that test milk for antibiotic residues. Financial Information
For the nine months ended 9/30/04, revenues rose 15% to $404.9 million. Net income rose 37% to $61.4 million. Revenues reflect increased sales of instrument and consumables, rapid assay products, and laboratory services at the Companion Animal Group and a favorable impact of foreign currency exchange. Net income also reflects improved operating margins.
