Business Description
WebMD Corporation conducts its business in four segments: Portal Services (WebMD Health), Transaction Services (WebMD Envoy), Physician Services (WebMD Practice Services) and Plastic Technologies (Porex). WebMD Health, WebMD Envoy and WebMD Practice Services provide various types of healthcare information services and technology solutions. In January 2004, the Company acquired the Internet portal resources of Physicians' Online, LLC, a subsidiary of Andrx Corporation. Physicians' Online is a portal of authenticated physicians providing professional communications, peer-to-peer discussions, up-to-date medical information and other resources. In December 2003, the Company acquired Medifax-EDI, Inc., a provider of real-time medical eligibility transaction services and other claims management solutions. In August 2003, the Company completed the sale of two operating units of Plastic Technologies segment.

Financial Information
For the nine months ended 9/30/04, revenues rose 21% to $852.7 million. Net income from continuing operations totaled $19.6 million, up from $6.1 million. Results reflect acquisitions, increased revenues from existing customers and improved operating margins.
