The Industrial Parts Group distributes industrial replacement parts and related supplies throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Office Products Group operates through S. P. Richards Company, a subsidiary engaged in the wholesale distribution of a broad line of office and other products that are used in the daily operation of businesses, schools, offices and institutions. The Electrical/Electronic Materials Group distributes materials for the manufacture and repair of electrical and electronic apparatus.

For the six months ended 6/30/02, net sales fell 2% to $4.11 billion. Net income before acntg. change fell less than 1% to 183.1 million. Results reflect the slowdown in the industrial manufacturing and telecommunications sectors of the economy, partially offset by higher gross margins and improved efficiencies.
