Business Description
General Dynamics Corp. operates businesses that produce information and communications technology, land and amphibious combat systems, and is engaged in naval and commercial shipbuilding, and business aviation. These are high technology businesses that use design, manufacturing and program management expertise together with advanced technology and the integration of complex systems as part of their everyday operations. The Company operates in four primary business groups: Information Systems and Technology, Combat Systems, Marine Systems, and Aerospace. The Company also owns other commercial operations.

Financial Information
GD supplies sophisticated defense systems to the U.S. and its allies. GD operates in the Combat Systems, Marine Systems, Inform Sys. and Tech., and Aerospace Segments. For the six months ended 6/30/02, revenues rose 18% to $6.63 billion. Net income rose 5% to $492 million. Revenues reflect strong performance in the Information System Technology group due to acquisitions. Earnings were partially offset by a lower operating margin.
