For the six months ended 6/30/02, net sales fell 6% to $3.6 billion. Net income rose 22% to $121 million. Revenues reflect reduced sales in the Fluid Power and Controls segments due to weak end-market demand. Earnings were offset by higher margins and reduced amortization.
