LM Ericsson Telephone Company (Ericsson) is engaged in the development and supply of end-to-end solutions to network operators for mobile and fixed-line communications. The company offers mobile platform technology for handset manufacturers and a variety of technology, equipment and services for private-enterprise networks, as well as for special applications, such as radar, cables and mobile devices. It divides its operations into three business segments: Systems, which consists of a three-pronged business approaches, such as Mobile Networks, Fixed Networks and Professional Services; Phones, a 50:50 joint venture with Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, offers a range of mobile handsets, including supporting multimedia applications and other personal communication devices, and Other Operations, which consists of a number of small operations, including Defense Systems, known as Microwave Systems, Network Technologies, Enterprise Systems and Mobile Platforms and Technology Licensing.

Financial Information
For the fiscal year ended 12/31/04, revenues rose 12% to SEK131.97 billion. Net income totaled SEK14.39 billion vs. a loss of SEK10.6 billion. Results reflect higher volume of mobile systems due to good performance in Latin American, Europe and Africa; and improved gross margins.
