Edison International is the parent holding company of Southern California Edison Company (SCE), a public utility corporation. As of December 31, 2001, Edison International owned, directly or indirectly, all of the issued and outstanding common stock of SCE and of other subsidiaries engaged in non-utility businesses (Nonutility Companies). The principal Nonutility Companies are: Edison Mission Energy (EME), which is engaged in developing, acquiring, owning or leasing, and operating electric power generation facilities worldwide and energy trading and price risk management activities; Edison Capital, a provider of capital and financial services for energy and infrastructure projects; and Edison Operations & Maintenance Services, which began operations on January 1, 2001, and provides operations and maintenance services for the power production industry.

EIX is a holding co. for Southern CA Edison, Co. (public utility), Edison Mission (operates electric power generation facilities), Edison Capital (capital and financial serv.), and Edison Enterprises. For the six months ended 6/02, revenues rose 19% to $5.51 billion. Net income from continuing operations totalled $746 million vs. a loss of $571 million. Results reflect increases at EME related to its cogeneration projects and a decrease in purchased power expenses.
