Equifax principally provides information services to businesses to help them grant credit and authorize and process credit cards and check transactions. For the six months ended 6/30/02, revenues fell 7% to $531.7 million. Net income from continuing operations rose 23% to $89.2 million. Revenues reflect global economic slowdown and foreign currency fluctuations. Earnings benefitted from cost control efforts and the absence of a $12.7 million goodwill amortization charge.
