Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. is an operator of discount variety stores offering merchandise at the fixed price of $1.00. The Company maintains a balanced selection of products within traditional variety store categories. Dollar Tree offers a selection of everyday basic products and it supplements the basic everyday items with seasonal and closeout merchandise. At January 31, 2004, the Company operated 2,513 single-price point stores under the names of Dollar Tree, Greenbacks, Dollar Express, Dollar Bills, Only One Dollar and Only $One in 47 states.

Financial Information
For the nine months ended 10/30/04, net sales rose 12% to $2.14 billion. Net income fell 1% to $96.6 million. Revenues reflect the net addition of 144 stores since 8/2/03. Net income was offset by the deleveraging of occupancy costs and a $1.1 million lease loss charge.
