Business Description
Cablevision Systems Corporation (CSC) is a cable operator in the United States. The Company also has investments in cable programming networks, entertainment businesses and telecommunications companies. During the year ended December 31, 2003, CSC served about 2.9 million cable television subscribers in and around the New York City metropolitan area. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Rainbow Media Holdings LLC, the Company owns interests in, and manages, numerous national and regional programming networks, the Madison Square Garden sports and entertainment business and cable television advertising sales companies. Through Cablevision Lightpath, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, CSC provides switched telephone services and high-speed Internet access to the business market. The Company also owns or has interests in a number of other businesses and companies that include Clearview Cinemas, a chain of 54 movie theaters, and Rainbow DBS, a direct broadcast satellite provider.

Financial Information
For the nine months ended 9/30/04, revenues rose 21% to $3.57 billion. Net loss from continuing operations and before extraordinary item totaled $357 million, up from $86.5 million. Results reflect revenue growth at Telecommunications and Rainbow Media, offset by higher operating expenses and reduced equity income.
