Centex Corporation is a residential construction company that operates in five principal business segments: Home Building, Financial Services, Construction Products, Construction Services and Investment Real Estate. Home Building operations involve the purchase and development of land or lots, and the construction and sale of single-family homes, townhomes and low-rise condominiums; Financial Services operations consist of home financing, sub-prime home equity lending and the sale of title insurance and various other insurance coverages; Construction Products operations involve the manufacture, production, distribution and sale of cement, gypsum wallboard, recycled paperboard, aggregates and ready mix concrete; Construction Services operations involve the construction of office, commercial and industrial buildings, as well as other facilities, and Investment Real Estate operations involve the acquisition, development and sale of land.

Financial Information
CTX operates in five principal business segments: Home Building, Investment Real Estate, Financial Services, Construction Products and Construction Services and Home Services. For the three months ended 6/30/02, revenues rose 8% to $1.84 billion. Net income rose 17% to $87.8 million. Revenues reflect increased conventional home sale closings and higher average sales prices. Net income also reflects improved margins, lower raw material costs, and process improvements.
