The Cooper Companies, Inc. develops, manufactures and markets healthcare products through its two principal business units: CooperVision (CVI) and CooperSurgical (CSI). CVI develops, manufactures and markets a range of contact lenses for the worldwide vision care market. It specializes in toric lenses that correct astigmatism, cosmetic lenses that change the appearance of the color of the eye, and other lenses, primarily for high growth, specialty and value-added market segments around the world. Its principal products are disposable and planned replacement toric and spherical lenses. CSI develops, manufactures and markets medical devices, diagnostic products and surgical instruments and accessories used primarily by gynecologists and obstetricians.

Financial Information
For the nine months ended 7/31/04, revenues rose 20% to $359.4 million. Net income rose 34% to $64.1 million. Revenues reflect global market share gains for disposable toric, disposable sphere, and specialty lenses. Net income also reflects improved gross margins and reduced interest costs.
