Comerica Incorporated is a multi-state financial services provider. The Company has strategically aligned its operations into three major lines of business: the Business Bank, the Individual Bank and the Investment Bank. The Business Bank is comprised of middle-market lending, asset-based lending, large corporate banking, international financial services and specialty deposit gathering. The Individual Bank includes consumer lending, consumer deposit gathering, mortgage loan origination and servicing, small business banking and private banking. The Investment Bank is responsible for the sale of mutual fund and annuity products, as well as life, disability and long-term care insurance products.

For the six months ended 6/30/02, interest income fell 22% to $1.42 billion. Net interest income after LLP fell 7% to $863 million. Net income applicable to Common rose 35% to $398 million. Results reflect lower loan fees, offset by higher service charges and the absence of a $109 million restructuring charge.
