Business Description
Alcoa Inc. is a producer of primary aluminum, fabricated aluminum and alumina. The Company is active in all major aspects of the industry: technology, mining, refining, smelting, fabricating and recycling. Non-aluminum products include precision castings, industrial fasteners, vinyl siding, consumer products, foodservice and flexible packaging products, plastic closures, fiber-optic cables and electrical distribution systems for cars and trucks. Alcoa's products are used worldwide in aircraft, automobiles, commercial transportation, packaging, consumer products, building and construction and industrial applications. The Company's operations consist of six segments: Alumina and Chemicals, Primary Metals, Flat-Rolled Products, Engineered Products, Packaging and Consumer and Other.

Financial Information
For the six months ended 6/30/04, revenues rose 11% to $11.79 billion. Net income from continuing operations and before acct. change appl. to Common increased 83% to $753 million. Revenues reflect higher upstream pricing and the inclusion of Fairchild Fasteners revenues. Net income also reflects higher margins due to cost savings.
