For the six months ended 6/02, interest income fell 32% to $1.34 billion. Net interest income after loan loss provision fell 4% to $765. Net income fell 6% to $723 million. Net interest income reflects a decrease in loans, partially offset by lower interest costs. Earnings suffered from lower fees.
