Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (Air Products) produces industrial gas and related industrial process equipment, and is a producer of certain chemicals. Air Products' Gases business segment recovers and distributes industrial gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon and hydrogen, and a variety of medical and specialty gases. The Company's Chemicals business segment produces and markets performance chemicals and chemical intermediates. The Company's Equipment business segment supplies cryogenic and other process equipment and related engineering services. In February 2002, the Company sold the majority of its packaged gas business to Airgas, Inc.

Air Products and Chemicals is a supplier of industrial gases and related industrial process equipment and is a producer of certain chemicals. APD is also involved in the power generation and flue gas treatment business. For the nine months ended 6/02, revenues fell 10% to $4 billion. Net income rose 5% to $381.1 million. Results reflect lower industrial gases sales due to weakness in the global electronics market, offset by a $55.7 million gain on the sale of a business.
