Business Description
Aon Corporation is a holding company whose operating subsidiaries carry on business in three distinct operating segments: Insurance Brokerage and Other Services, Consulting and Insurance Underwriting. The Insurance Brokerage and Other Services segment consists principally of Aon's retail, reinsurance and wholesale brokerage, as well as related insurance services, including claims services, underwriting management, captive insurance company management services and premium financing. The Consulting segment provides a full range of human capital management services utilizing five practices: employee benefits, compensation, management consulting, outsourcing and communications. Aon's Insurance Underwriting segment is comprised of supplemental accident and health and life insurance, and extended warranty and casualty insurance products and services.

AOC is a holding company whose subsidiaries are engaged in three segments: insurance brokerage and other services; consulting; and insurance underwriting. For the six months ended 6/30/02, revenues rose 13% to $4.21 billion. Net income applicable to Common rose from $47 million to $159 million. Results reflect strong sales at international, reinsurance, and wholesale brokerage and the absence of $218 million in special charges related to the Business Transformation Plan.
